So come on then lads and ladies, what are you up to today? Me? I'm waiting on the postman and Dell to phone about getting my laptop sorted. That little brown box from the USA would make me sooooo happy The weather is nice and bright too which is nice. I would go walking on the beach but went there a couple of days back and man, it was in a right two and eight. They have diggers in atm moving the beach back 12ft as it started to impose on the road lol.
I'm creating a model of deflection in a steel tubular chassis using simple 1 dimensional beam elements in a 3d structure. That should let the team know if we need to add a sheet element to the base of the chassis to improve lateral rigidity. Also my 580 might be coming!
Currently in Barcelona Sants waiting for the train to the airport. Then flying home this afternoon. I've had 3 days at my desk this year. And probably April by the time I get back to it. I love travelling. Miss my wife and dog though. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Work, followed by dinner out with the wife and then resisting drink so I can actually get out of bed tomorrow morning to make it to ju-jitsu.
Waiting for some huge veneer sheets to arrive, then spending a bit of time with some old high school friends, getting home to continue clearing my room and maybe make a start on my bass pickguard, and then hosting a gathering of college friends.
writing a cover sheet for a job, possibly some concept art depending on my mood and reading up on the legality's of trademarking in the UK fun times.
Today I shall mostly be staring out of the window, trying to identify the strange orange blob in the sky. Whilst contemplating the meaning of life.....
Today I'm not seeing cancer patients; it's my day off. Today I'm going to check out metalworking lathes. That modding hobby can really get out of control...
I'm sitting at my desk in the office, wondering why I didn't just work from home when it seems the rest of my team have. Whilst I'm here, I'm trying to identify potential interdependencies between a major programme of work and numerous discrete projects.
Hey that sounds like school lmao. Well the Dell tech came and my laptop is pretty much brand new. Well chuffed !! we ran Valley and the GPU remained at 53c throughout. Not 95c. So I'm a very happy boy. I got a new keyboard too, so that coupled with how much I have babied this thing make it brand spanking new. Tell you what, Dell take a lot of hassle but they've been fudging cheesecake for me.
I'm 'twerk. Paperwork, coffee, chats, lunch, radio 2, itil and then home, tea, tv, dog walk, tv, bed. I might get round to installing some ram and a tv card into my HTPC and have a fiddle with Mediaportal to see if it's easy to view/record/pause/etc and also if the epg is any good. I wish I'd got WMC free while I had the chance, although MP looks ok on other people's setups.
Today I'm.... Refactoring code. Playing with gerbils (Steve, Libby, Abney and Hamish if you must know) Being annoyed that #FF0000 is slightly orange on one display. Researching a display calibrator. Laying down the core architecture for the next app module. Splashing in puddles. Listening to Walk off the Earth. Going to see the lego movie. Hoping that the Ukraine settles down. Playing with bezier curves. Climbing a tree. Compiling. Driving a bright red camper van. Avoiding the bottomless Surrey potholes. Tickling. Walking down a hill. Feeding some ducks. Giving a piggy back. Climbing up a hill with a child on my back. Debugging code. Synchronising my 4TB media drives over WiFi. Writing documentation. Singing 'Reindeers are better than people' from the movie frozen. Flushing the gastric port of a small child. Listening to 'This is not the end' by Fieldwork and wishing Edge of tomorrow was out. Squinting at the tiny UI when playing banished on a 15" 2880x1800 display. Watching Game of Thrones Season 3 again. Reading Hyperion by Dan Simmons. Debugging. Watching the gf cook lasagne. Eating lasagne. Pumping 500ml of a fibrous protein feed mixture into the jejunum of a sleeping child. Compiling. Reseting the 'I'm blocked' alarm of a nutricia feeding pump when said small sleeping child rolls over and blocks the smegging feeding tube... again... and again... Sleeping. I love my life.
Oh and trying to find 2 intermediate light switches, to match all the rest in the house, that are no longer available
Well I work at a University so that's close enough Should be coupled with stabbing yourself with a sharp implement to ensure your attention span is maintained.
