Computer won't boot

Hello there everyone, this may be asking much but i need a little help here.

HereŽs the situation:
I just made a CPU and Motherboard upgrade to my previous build, aswell as a new Full Tower Case.
Everything went well with the re-building in the new case but when i pressed the power button, the fans started working properly but a red light appeared on the memOK LED and the computer doesnt even get to the bios (just black screen with the fans still working).
So i red about the memOK LED system and it says on the motherboard manual that it most likely is RAM incompatibility issue. So i tried swaping slots and tried with only one RAM stick too, combining also the memOK switch that tries to adapt the incompatible RAMS so it could eventually boot at least, didnt work either.
So im kinda worried here if its really a RAM issue or something wrong with the cpu, motherboard or even psu.
If someone could be kind enough to get me some "lights" here iŽd be thankfull.

Here are my specs:

RAMS: DDR3 KINGSTON KVR1333D3N9/4G x2 (8GB 1333mhz)
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-M
CPU: INTEL Core i7 2700K 3.50GHz 8MB Socket 1155
CPU Cooler: Coolmaster Vortex 211Q
Graphic Card: nVidia ASUS GTX570 oc 1280mb
PSU: LC POWER Hyperion 700W (80 plus efficiency)
Case: Coolmaster HAF X

If anyone answers and needs further details i can try and dig them up.

Thank you for reading.

Try updating the bios, some motherboards even new models can have issues with 4GB sticks. Ive had motherboards in the past which simply refused to work with 4gb sticks even after I updated to the bios designed to fix that problem.

Just did that through the BIOS FLASHBACK feature, managed to update the bios sucessfully but it didnt help with the memOK issue. Another thing i noticed is that the red memOK LED still turns on even if i dont have any RAM sticks installed, wich means its impossible for me to know if its really the RAM or CPU failure. I removed the cpu and checked for any burning or scorched chips just in case, seems pretty much normal and with no physical anomalies. I always take extra care when installing but you never know ...

Well thanks for you help. Only solution now is trying to replace my RAM sticks and see if that works. Cheers

If you can try some RAM from another PC, and/or test your current RAM in another machine you can find out which is faulty, the RAM or something else.
Also, if you've only upgraded the RAM and CPU, try removing them from the case and testing them on a bench with the minimum amount of things plugged in, ie, CPU, one stick of RAM, and GFX card.

unlikely to happen nowadays - but many years ago after a rebuild i had sort of similar thing in that a standoff in the case was shorting out the board/behind/under memory slots

Ok guys, sorry about the late response but i needed to be sure.

Well it seems replacing the motherboard fixed the issue. Its the same motherboard (P8Z77-M) but this time it works properly so far with no RAM errors.

Lets hope it stays that way.

Thanks to everyone that replied.
