    I hope the next iphone uses USB3! Don't jinx it bit-tech.

    Interesting results though, 5x is certainly very nice for now, but i doubt we will see USB3's true colours shine until it is incorporated into chipsets, the same goes for SATA 6Gbps

    Also "USB 2 can only deliver a maximum of 100mA"? Fairly sure its 500mA, we've seen several USB devices in our workshop that have a constant current draw of 400mA+.

    All of the graphs say "Speed (MB/sec)". Only the graphs on the first page should.

    So, from the sound of it, the Universal Serial Bus now has an even greater number of data lanes... wouldn't that make it the Universal Parallel Bus? :eyebrow:

    Overall, looks pretty promising.

    Seems like more and more devices are using PCIe lanes for data transfer. With Intel's S1156 chips on P55 boards there is potential to cut into your GPU performance if too many lanes are dedicated to peripherals. Might make for an interesting article to see if this impact could be determined.

    Please test the Asus USB3/SATA 6Gbps board on a AMD 790FX chipset, why? well the 790FX has 42 dedicated PCIe 2.0 lanes to northbridge, so basicly its PCie 2.0 all the way, unlike many intel boards

    and it would also be nice to know how the Asus addon PCIe board perform on amd platform compared to the intel platform

    all the test about USB3 and SATA 6Gbps has been tested on Intel platforms!

    USB2 is 480mbps = 60MBps

    Maybe a similar happening with usb3? The fastest I've ever seen on usb2 is a gnats under 30MBps.

    dout next iphone will use usb3. Apple hasnt exactly used firewire yet which has been out forever. Even up to recently usb1 was still the only true support for the ipod series.
