Photos Hertz new budget car??

On a road trip of Maine and Vermont, and this is the car Hertz gave us on the cheapest car deal we could find via ebookers. Its good fun but fair eats the petrol. And I'm glad there are only two of us, any more and they might have to amputate at the knees. Taken using my new 10-20 sigma lens on the d50. Its taking some getting used to, have to remember to not take pictures of lakes with it as you end up with hugh amounts of sky and water and a thin tiny strip of trees in the middle.

What the hell happened to the road?! Earthquake?

 

apparently a storm in June/July caused the river to flood, went straight across the road taking trees and boulders with it. I've got a pic of a tree trunk now embedded in the tarmac a little bit further down the road. its quite an impressive site.
