They're called fighting games, not beat-em-ups. Those refer to games like Final Fight, Double Dragon or Streets of Rage.

I'm totally with you, SFII on the SNES was such an defining period of my gaming youth. Capcom have done a fantastic job on Street Fighter 4 and it's a fantastic improvement and complement to the SNES classic.

It was for me too - I bought it on the Amiga, but it was defining because my parents thought it was too violent and made me take it back and swap it. So, I bought Monkey Island instead.

If it wasn't for my parents buying me a SNES with Street Fighter 2 Turbo (still have the Sagat v Bison box!) I wouldn't have got into Taekwondo, I wouldn't have got into Anime and it (unintentionally) inspired my music tastes (Alice In Chains & Silverchair).

I love SF, I'll always love Street Fighter and one day I will throw a freakin' Hadoken! It's all about getting my Ki together.

They encouraged my passions, just as they did with all my brothers and sisters.

It was Street Fighter II: Championship Edition on the Sega Megadrive that fuelled my love for the series.

I've just installed IV on the PC, but am hanging back from playing it until I get an Xbox Pad. :)

That doesn't stop me going in and drooling over the intro movie, though ;)
