    "ATI Technologies is expected to enter volume production of its R420 graphics chip core as early as the end of the first quarter, according to local industry sources."

    I'm supprised they enter mass production, are you sure it's not just a large scale batch production that they're entering into... very few products are mass produced.

    yeah I guess so, mass production means constant production of a product 24/7

    I would imagine ATi are a batch production company, they produce a batch of 9800's, then a batch of 9600's etc, etc... :)

    Is there any hope that ATI's partners will do something interesting this time around? It is getting rather pointless choosing a specific card when they are all exactly the same, maybe some with a slightly different coloured PCB.

    160 million transisters (for comparison the P4 EE has 178 million, with about 90 million of them in the lvl3 cache) and GDDR3 is gonna cost A LOT OF WONGA!

    I hope they know what they are doing :eyebrow:

    Another NV30? or another R300?

    I suspect it will be DDR-II, GDDR3 will probably introduced on their midrange cards sometime later.

    Got a good feeling this will be another R300.
