Hey guys, so I've finally decided I need to add a Dvd Burner to my rig.. as a lot of the work on my Uni course needs to be handed in via disc...

I am not looking for a blu-ray burner, just a highly recommended DVD burner.

I am looking for a reliable burner with as high as possible write speeds.

All suggestions are highly appreciated. :)

The technology is old enough that you would have trouble finding one that's not fit for the job.

Well , the Pioneer one is OEM so it won't come with any software, not that I have ever needed it.

The Pioneer one has labelflash if you think you will ever use it. Other than that not much that I can see. I will wait to see what others know however.

For burning software I found a create one on the net that I now have on my laptop. PM me and when I get home I will try and find a link for you.

Well - the difference will be supplied software, and to an extent, the quality of the drive. I'd always go for a Pioneer or Plextor or something like that if data integrity is top priority, and I would never (ever) write at the highest possible write speed. It's a recipe for bad discs.

(Yes, this comes from years of mastering audio CDs, but the same principles apply...)
