Athlon 7850 Upgrade. RAM and GPU upgrade.
Looking for advise to give someone else a reasonable upgrade from the Athlon 7850 and Asus M3N72-D and also looking to upgrade from 2 x 9500 GPU's all for the princely sum of $400 (£250). Oh and at least double the RAM. He currently has 3 x Kingston HyperX 1GB (PC2 8500).
I no nothing of AMD hence I am seeking advice here. Over to you folks.

I'd ditch the am2 stuff and go am3+, at least it leaves you with an upgrade path of sorts plus gives you ddr3 ram
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...CE&PageSize=20 Just make sure it supports 125w cpu's eg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813135314 ECS A960M-M2 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814134131ECS NGTX560TI-1GPI-F1 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820104277Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103727AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 $374.96 Last edited by davvy76; 19th Dec 2012 at 12:26. |
