The future is a mystery, the past is history.
We do not have the ability to turn the clock,
We must make the most, with every shot.
    Changing lives makes an impression,
For the only way to truly surpass the boundary,
Is to make sure that you leave something behind.

Above you will find the preview sketch for my plan to accomplish this mod.

The list of sponsors so far on board for this project are as follows:

We will update the above list, and also update with the products sponsored via images soon.

I will be updating this thread along with others on other forums, as well as on Facebook, instagram etc... Search Precision Computing across these platforms, and refer to this http://www.precisioncomputing.net/computer-modding/back-to-the-mod/ for updated links as to where I will be sharing.

Don't know what happened to my original bit-tech account, but reset my password, and it shows like my account is a new account, and any old threads are gone.. :wallbash:

We start with the untouched case. I have had this case for a few years, the windowed side panel was an option from Cooler Master. We won't be needing that! :D

    Now we start the breakdown.

Now we have a bare case, and I am starting to layout what will be the new back panel. It will have dimension to allow for cable management, and mounting of all the internal components.

Next post will have some cutting into the frame of the case, as well as a couple videos! Enjoy!

So after the chassis was cut down, we began fitment of test panels and creating templates.

Then some support braces to make the chassis strong, as well as a new bottom panel.
These were all test pieces at this point.

Use of the front of the case:

First test fit with the paper mock up panels:

Initial layout for motherboard, and radiator, that changed:

First panels being tested in place from final cut pieces:

All pieces were cut by hand using hand and electric power tools as seen below:

Bent using a 30" hand brake:

    Starting to take some shape:

    More components incoming:

Now that I had a good idea of the layout, time to make the final frame work:

    Measure cut, measure cut:

New bottom frame, framework for the chassis support complete, and chassis painted, wheels mounted:

    Some more shots:

Moving on to the Thermaltake DPS power supply, giving it the "stainless" treatment to match the theme:

First steel wool to remove the gold paint from the aluminum grill, then to polishing:

    Shiney :D

Now we hand painted using brushed to achieve the stainless look, using a bright silver, and black blended:

Now we start to see the chassis taking shape:

    Much more work to do!

    Cutting some more panels:

    Back panel made and mounted:

    Hood made and mounted:

    Almost ready for mounting!

Using the original front of the case from the HAF 922, after giving it the "stainless" treatment to fit the mod. Tribute to Cooler Master for hosting this competition and allowing us to have the opportunity to compete!

After all the hard work, the last thing to do was finishing touches, and bend some tube, and on to leak testing. So without further ado, I present "Back to the Mod"

    That came out pretty neat.:D
At the start, I feared a train wreck was coming. -Why did you bother using a case?

Thanks  I used a case, because I wanted to show how extreme a case could be taken, would have been much easier to do it from scratch.. :wallbash: Also entered it into the CoolerMaster contest and wanted to throw something different into the case competition portion.
