Recruitment drive - 25,000 PPD

We need people to run the 25000 PPD WU

 

I can run that on one of the servers I've got access to but I thought SMP was limited to 4 cores (unless it's a trial for SMP2)

 

It is a 25,000 unit that they say takes 3 days to complete, so about 8,100 ppd.

 

I want one.

Have nothing atm that will run it on time though.

 

i'll give one a go on the 3.8 i7, will run it in nicely lol

 

I would have to cluster all my machines to get that on time... maybe.

 

Sorry if it's a bit off topic, but what's the deal with clustering on Folding@Home? I've got access to a **** load of desktops I could cluster but as far as I am award, FAH doesn't like to load balance that well- certainly under ClusterKnoppix. Maybe the SMP client could be tricked?

I dunno, it's something I have always wanted to do. 12, 2.4ghz dual core desktops and 6, 1.6Ghz laptops plz.

 

eh my statement was just kind of a "if i combined all my power". I am not quite sure how FAH would react to it.

 

FAH does not cluster at all and i don't think they plan to make it do so anytime soon.

If only i had a dual-quad instead of a dual-dual
25k every 3 days would be nice....

 

25K every day is nicer, I can assure you. Yours for ~£1500 plus leccy costs, and the knowledge and time required to build it and set it up
