    lol, I'm not really biased. As much as I prefer the Ergonomics, flash system, af performance of the D700 over the Canon 5DMKII, I'm fully aware that both systems have their merits. I had a Canon compact before I bought my D80. It had a misaligned lens, and while I did enjoy it I was looking for more control, better Iso etc, and so got a refund instead of a replacement. Who do you think reccomended the 950IS to my sister? Me :D Canon compacts are just better than Nikon ones lol.

    Ah, the bit about where credit is due? lol. In a nut shell,

    Nikon for ;
    AF system
    Flash system
    High Iso (although you could say the fact that it doesn't have a 35 1.4, 24 1.4 etc kind of contradicts that one)
    200-400 f4
    14-24 f2.8
    old lenses can be used on D200/D300/D700/D3/D3X. I/e ai-s, af-i etc.

    Canon for;
    lenses. Namely;
    135 F2 (Nikon has a 135 f2 but the fact that it has DC (defocus control), a pretty useless feature for most people, that results in front/back focus when used wide open on most bodies, meaning you have to dial in front/rear defocus control just to get it to be neutral, means I cba with that lens).
    35 1.4, 24 1.4, notice how I've left out the 85 1.2 and 50 1.2
    all lenses are USM
    As far as the lenses go, some might also say Canon's lenses are cheaper too.

    Anyway, this has all been done to death, and I've just wasted 15 minutes typing this out. I think I might save it as a txt file for future reference so I can just copy and paste it next time this topic comes up. Cheers OleJ :waah:

    SSR, did you actually buy the hoods I see on all your Canon lenses? :D ;) Last time I checked you had to buy the hoods seperately if you shoot Canon glass.

    LOL I'll waste 5 more minutes without getting into the high ISO/AF performance squabble.
    f/4 zooms (17-40, 70-200/4, 70-200/4IS)
    17TS-E (You can add the 24II as well, considering the new T/S mech. design)
    85/1.2+50/1.2...absolutely no need to leave them out.
    14IIL
    800L
    And most importantly COST+AVAILABILITY

    Ehm... I just found it funny that your unedited post said something like "Oh I don't mind shooting Nikon" and ended with "I give credit where"
    Omitting "due" which was fun in the context.

    It was an out of context comment I made :)
