Other So Long and Thanks for all the Fish

Dear bit-techerers,

I'm afraid its time for us to part company after almost 6 years. I've had a lot of fun and learnt an awful lot about the internet, computers, modding and gaming - but im afraid recently ive started feeling a growing sense of animosity towards the site and a particular group of forum members.

I think in the last couple of years the site has changed significantly and im afraid its been for the worse. The site content has gone downhill drastically since the buying by Dennis and as such, so has my interest. The only thing keeping me here were the forums, and while there are a good group of regular posters, there are also a group who are dragging this place down and trying to change it for the worse. So, rather than staying and fighting a group of mouthy nubs, im going to pack my bags and head off for a new pasture.

Its been fusies.



(I may still pop my head in from time to time, but im afraid thats it now..)

A top poster but I do see where your coming from.. Many concerns have been raised by many users on here over the 18months or so and unfortunately it looks as though its just not taken seriously..

I too have found a couple of new sites to post on, maybe one of those will becaome a new "home" so to speak..

I have to say I agree with you on pretty much everything that you're basing this decision on, I just hope I'm not one of the annoyances that contributed to your decision! All I can say is thanks for being such a big part of this community for so long, and contributing so much constructive and entertaining input. I wish you the very best in the future and hope that you drop in to check up on us every now and then Until we meet again, salut!

And I'm sorry to bring it here, but guys... "buy" is not the same as "bye". The word used to express farewell is "bye". Buy is a verb that means to purchase.

Whilst the subject has come up, could everyone take a moment and ask yourself if you feel that you contribute to the bit-tech community in a positive way? I'm not talking down to anyone, but this is a community and we are here to help each other, entertain each other and share our hobbies, interests and work with other people. The more people there are who don't get along with a majority of the members here or who don't do any of the above, the more the community spirit dwindles. Just some food for thought. Bit-tech has been around a lot longer than I've been a member, but I've seen big changes in my 5 1/2 years, and not all of them for the better.

I've only been here for just under 4 years and a lot has changed. I know I don't contribute to the forum as much as some people but this place is surprisingly welcoming compared to most of the forums I've been to over the years.

 

On a more serious note Mankz, thanks for everything you've done over the years to support the site. Hand on heart, it's members like you that made me so proud to run bit-tech for over 3 years. :manhugs: <3
