Other using netbook to download steam games?

    is it possible to use my netbook to download steam games? and then tranfer the files over to my gaming pc?
    some of the downloads are 13 - 21 gig and id rather not leave my gaming pc on all the the time its gona take to download, i have a really slow connection, i dont mind leaving the netbook on downloading.

    sure you can. When you're finished downloading you backup the game, transfer the backup over to your gaming station and restore the backup.

    Yes sure I do something similar with my server as it is much lower power. Don't use the useless steam backup system though, just copy the game files out of it's directory inside of steam directory. It's so much faster.

    Im pretty sure you can download a game to a external disk somewhere.

    Only if you make a junction first, there is no way to select location of anything within steam, it always put everything inside steam directory.
