    Hi folks,

I've tried the common alternatives - Symbaloo, etc but I find them too clunky or complex in comparison with iGoogle.

Since getting a Nexus 7 I love the customisable "widgets" you can set on your Android desktop - is there something similar for Chrome or Windows 7 in general?

    Many thanks,

    Cleggy.

Are you running Windows 8? With some judicious arranging the Start Screen can do the same thing. Else knock something up with Rainmeter on your desktop. If you like Google's widgets on Android, try Yahoo Widgets for the Windows desktop.

When looking at Startific and Symbaloo I think you might as well have the Windows 8 Start Screen.

Just to copy/paste my reply frrom another thread:
I use the W8 start screen for news and weather, but while it's pretty it's not there yet when it comes to replacing the at a glance functionality of my homepage. I've never been a fan of desktop widgets and customisations.
