About to complete my loop and was wondering which would be better: Discharge from CPU to top port and provide a gravity feed back to resevoir Discharge from CPU to bottom port and pump through radiator Cheers.
It doesn't matter to much what way you go as the pump will be push the fluid around the system. But what I always try to do is keep the res higher than the pump so there is no chance it can run dry. If you are using a pump/res combo it can go anywhere.
Cheers. I have my res a little higher than my pump, but thats down to the case design. So will go for cpu to top and bottom to res. Thanks.
The main thing to remember is getting the order right. Basically, res> pump> cpu>rad and back to the res. Keep to the basic rules and you can pretty much do what you want with regards to the lay out in the case. Is it just the CPU you're cooling?
Yeah just the CPU, well 4 of them. http://forums.bit-tech.net/showpost.php?p=3302523&postcount=14 The radiator will be outside the case. Its a MO-RA3. My loop will be: Res -> Pump -> CPU's -> T connector for draining -> Radiator -> Temp Probe -> Back to Res The res is now on its side compared to the images above. This puts it higher than the res, but only marginally.
That will be fine the way you're doing it. I just had a look at the build. I didn't realize what you were doing. That is mental I really like that. I'll be keeping an eye on it. I've never seen that Icy box.. I can see myself buying on of those.
Yeah I think the IcyBox is fantastic for the Recon. Will need to get a dremel so I can cut a slot in the back for the cables. Also need to put a meter on the power supply inside to see if I can hook it up. Removed the front door and hacked away at a bit of plastic that was in the way. Finally used bluetac to secure it as there are no side screws. The optical drive gets screwed from below. Fits really well and doesnt move when pushing the buttons.
I was looking at it and thought it came that way.. Thats a nice bit of modding you've done. Looks factory.
Tnx for the help. Now up and running for over an hour and only had a silly leak to fix in the first 20 minutes.
