    Unless you know the pin-outs, that is going to be very very difficult. Check out the laptop LCD thread which you should find in the stickies, it will give you an idea of how difficult this may be.

    That does indeed look tricky. I was thinking IDE ribbon cable, not that tiny thing. Just making the contact connections looks daunting, let along finding the pinout.

    As von lazuli said, check the guide stickies in modding for LCD info. You can also try pinouts.ru for pinouts, though I'm not sure what luck you'll have with that unless it's pretty standard.

    Thanks for all the help - here are the pinouts for vga and my lcd. I don't see the corresponding connections. Am I missing something?

    More than likely the LCD has a controller board. Without that board, it's useless.

    Most likely the controller will have an input for S-Video or Composite (RCA) though.
