As it says in the title, I have a maximum (ish) budget of £150 for a new GPU. IMHO I prefer Nvidia because i think they are meant to run cooler and quieter (don't know if that is actually true). I also prefer to buy from scan. Here is the best I saw: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-sapphire-hd-6850-4000mhz-gddr5-gpu-775mhz-960-stream-processors-2x-dvi-hdmi-dp http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-...-shaderclock-1526mhz-336-cores-dvi-i-minihdmi http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-...0mhz-shader-1620mhz-336-cores-2-x-dvi-i-mhdmi And if it really is worth it, i may be able to get http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-...50mhz-shader-1700mhz-384-cores-dvi-i-minihdmi My monitor is a dell u2311h and i usually play BC2 and COD 4&5, it is really worth the extra £20 for the 560ti PS. How to do shorten links
To shorten a link use the url= tags and choose the text of your choice (omit spaces that I have shown below) Code: [u r l=www.link.com] text [/url] As for graphics cards, don't spend nearly £200 on a GTX 560 when you can get an ATI 5870 for under £150. Forget about brands - all grahpics cards run very hot, but some have better stock cooling than others. A few extra degrees is of absolutely no consequence... "buy this for best cooling" is just marketing propaganda. If I was to buy a new card now I wouldn't think in terms of brands, I would think in terms of price/performance, and ATI has that in the bag at the moment with the 5870.
Might be a bit over budget, but this would be my recommendation http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-asus-gtx-560-ti-directcu-ii-4000mhz-gddr5-gpu-830mhz-384-core as fast as a 6950 or 6970 in most games, (when overclocked for the 6970) would also age better than the 5870, which was a brilliant card. And yes the extra £20 for a Ti version is definitely worth it.
