Right.. Previously updated from a shoddy very outdated system, to a much more recent model. Now however I'm struggling to play counter strike worse than I did before upgrading. I've upgraded all apart from my PSU and GPU. I've read around that the FX-8320 CPUS dont bode well with steam games and most importantly counter strike.. I've read that a BIOS update is required for it to run smoothly... Anyone to shed some light on this matter would be greatly appreciated! Regards Zak specs: - Windows 8.1. - AMD FX-8320. - 8GBS Corsair Vengance 1333mhz. - ASUS M5A97 R2.0. - GTX 460 - keeping till i have money for a new card. - CX500 PSU. - 240 SSD. - 1TB storage..
Are all drivers up to date? If you're using a beta version of the GPU drivers, downgrade to something older.
just updated my BIOS and i'm seeing a bit of an improvement.. Could it be a bottlenecking problem? as my GPU is very outdated now. Where as my other computers are all pretty modern?
Counter Strike is VERY CPU based. Your system should be more than capable of playing it but if I remember correctly, it does just seem to run better on Intel CPUs although I do not know why. Your system should be fine with that game to be honest. I can play it on my laptop (specs below) without any lag or issue.
