I took the plunge after a few days of research, and I have bought this...

I was going to go for Dual GTX 675's, but it turns out that they are rebranded GTX 580's still on the 40nm die.
A single 7970M is as fast as dual GTX 580m's. So I had to order 2x 7970m's for maximum graphic performance.:D

I will be buying 3x 256GB M4's as it is £1k cheaper than using Dells SSD.

    Bought these extras;

    3x 256GB Plextor SSD's

    16GB 1600 9 9 9 24 RAM

    Windows 7 Ultimate

    i7 3920XM CPU.

    Ha ha.
I'm only saying that cos I'm a jealous mofo right now.
Hope it is awesome, although if it was me, I would have added additional warranty and accidental damage. Did you call them, because there is always flexibility in pricing.

    Nice, Simon.

I can see the reasoning - my mate used to spend so long in his cab he coughed up thousands for all the creature comforts - you might as well enjoy some serious gaming when you're parked up.

Of course, you won't have the same need for your big rig - so, if you want to throw that test bench and a 680 my way, I'm only too happy to help. :D :p

Would a separate gadget insurance not be better?

Heres to hoping it doesn't go the way of all other AlienWares and break within a few months!

    Yep...:(

I will add this to my home insurance, which covers accidental damage.
    No I didn't phone them for a better price...Should I have? :(

Thanks :) - I might put my RIG up for sale, depending how I feel about the laptop becoming a replacement. We shall see. :)

    Thanks :)
Yep, I will give it a review with benchmarks, and loads of pics of course. :)

I hope not...I do have next day hardware replacement for 1yr, which can be extended. :)

    Thanks :)

I do work hard, and give up my weekends and work away from home all week. So these are the benefits. :)

I want benchmarks, especially if that processor can hit the same 13K in Geekbench. It may "Force" me to go back to watercooling to beat it!

Would you care to invest in a hard working student doing a free internship? £2.5k is what I need to eat for the year...

My old man used to be a long distance haulier. It is an easy job, but such hard work being so aware all the time, as well as being away from your family for long periods. Now a days he drives more locally though. I know from past experience from family in the states that it works there, he got big money off a workstation. I deal with a large business dell account, I always get discount. I think if you call small business though and tell them you run a business, tgpcs or something you should be able to negotiate a discount especially on a high value item like that. Personally I would be tempted to call them tomorrow and see what they say, it is possible that they would offer some discount retrospectively perhaps, if they can't do that, then cancel the order and reinstate over the phone with the smb team.

I like the fact that you shell out for over 2k of fancy pants laptop goodness and they still charge you an extra £20 for delivery

    I don't think he would enjoy that...:D

Yeah, I may just speak to them about that. TG-PCS, that's quite catching. :)

Your right, I may moan at them tomorrow about that, I might get a free upgrade on something.:)
