So today I rotated my Titan Fenrir so the fan blows out of the back of the case. At stock my idle temps have dropped 2-3degrees to about 38 and maxing out at 64 with Prime95. With a very quick bit of dabbling I grazed 100degrees with 3.8GHz and 1.4V. My question is what temperatures should I been looking to stay under when overclocking? Thanks in advance
Why so much voltage? Try setting it on auto and see if it comes down. getting towards 100 is not healthy. My 940 hit 77 degrees @ 4 gig
100C is at breaking point. Way too high. You could cause potential damage to the CPU. I am running the same processor at 3.8GHZ and my temps are at 68c load. You should be able to reduce the voltage on that overclock, but for the sake of your cpu, you need to take those temps right down.
Normally setting it to auto brings it down a bit. I'm thinking you might need to apply some new TIM and reseat the cooler, some things not quite right here. It could possibly be that you've got a CPU thats just not a good over clocker.
