Hello the comunity of Bit-Tech! First and important thing, my english isn't good enough to undrestand everyone and my sentences can be sometimes wrong, I'm really sorry, I'll do my best to be the most understable by all. I started this mod on my P182 with the "Nano" theme, inspiration comes for sure from crysis but this isn't a Crysis mod but just "Nano Evolved". Hello! Ok lets go for the first steps of this project. As every project I did some drawings tryin to express what I want and give me a litle idea of the project. and the beginnin with one of the most important piece, the door with a whole for a plexiglass. It was ma first time with a Dremel And isn't that's bad! Today I learned a lot and for all who want to do a casemod, DONT BUY WIRELESS DREMEL ! Mine is simply dead... Maximum time I can work with it was about 15 min before he needed to be "recharged", the power consumption is very very fast and the dremel was very warm when cuting... The durability isn't good at all. Today I have remplaced it with a Dremell 3000 and its A LOT BETTER Time to make it nice With a lot of patience... And more and more patience works hard to get perfection As you see I have a very little space to work (on my balcony) 95% of work will be here and can't use mechanical issue, hand work is very long for getting industrial finish quality. The next step is cuting the door of the P182, not easy work... The door is composed of 3 coat, 2 of aluminium and 1 of "polycarbonate" sort of plastic very soft, cuting it isnt easy because with the temprature he melt during cut. Leave the first coat Nano Evolution in progress Removing scotch double side Little preview And the evolution continue, cuting the "polycarbonate" and the second alimunium coat. Another preview directly on the case (today my hardware setup changed I little, I have a second 7870 for CrossFireX ) Here we can see the 3 coat of the P182 door, I found the triple coat very nice Will save it for the final and do it very very clear and nice. And I directly did another whole to the front door for easy opening and for complete the Nano Evolution theme. The work is almost done, maybe some little milimeters to ajust for the perfection ... Thats all for today, I need to change the size of all other pictures and continue to work on it them I will publish the next soon
Hello and thank you all for your comments Today we will continue with the frame and the first step was to transfert my component to another case. As you will can see isn't a new case, I got it since many years and I love it! It will be a second life for him In the next picture we can see residues of Ice Tea... A freind spilled a glass of ice tea into my case on the top fan, making a drizzle of Ice tea everywhere inside the case when I was playing Crysis! After a very long night of cleaning each components the PC restart and no damage has been caused And the heat of overcloaking The steel of the P182 is very hard to cut, specialy with reinforced disks, I changed it to weaker ones after, a lot better results. The Hole at the top isn't definitive, I'll ajust it later. The place of the PSU The bolt heads will be honed to a better finish I will try to publish the next steps faster because this update isn't that interesting.
Hello guys! Let's go for the folowing The door actually is at maximum opening... I have patched it some days ago, now it opens at 90° I don't have pictures yet, will publish later. Next step is the first layer of black paint, I do it before the end of all changes, I want to see if the paint adheres well. If I have bad result with I will add a sublayer. And my paint room! Last cleaning Back to home Assembly of the door with the two layers And the door in place Today I bought 5 Coolink Swif2 1201 fans, will buy another 5 when possible, isn"t maybe much money but at all that that does a lot for me Under blacklight they will be like that : (isn't my pictures!)
I like your work on the panel. It's not the usual rectangular or squared window. Keep up the good work!
Thanks hero1 I begin with the new stuff Coolink fans 2 green leds + 92 BeQuit fan and a new func I bought new disc from dremel with speedclic head, wanna try em And other stuff... I had some plexi from another mod not used, wanna try it on this one. If plexi isn't enough good I'll remplace it. I cutted it with "cutter". For clear cuts nothig better than little discs, but they are very weak... I'll try new discs later Top grid I lost some pics when I cuted the front door, maybe will found them later... Next coming soon ...
Thanks guy It's mabye still too early but the seconde door will be nicer that this one for layers I think since long time about it and I hope that will be very great with multiple layer too. I just need to get back my dremel, I killed 2 of them in this project and the second is actually in repair for the next month I have not the possibility now to buy another one, then I will wait and prepare all I need for later, maybe try to found help for watercooling parts if some brand like my work it will be fantastic If not I'll just wait the time needed to get enough money, but for sure I'll finish it Next pics ! I don't work to finish to the end the pieces I work in 1 time, I work as I draw, back again many times on it, sort of layer work too! For this some pics show "dirty" work but I will come back on it and stop just when I will found it perfect or because I can't do better ;( The aluminium is 2mm so I need many time to work it properly. And sorry for all bad quality pics I have just my phone shooting the case. For the last pics I'll show with a true camera and doing nicer shoots, I need to borrow it from a freind This 3.5" aluminium cach will be craft later. The Hole you see on this plexi will be for giving more airflow to the crossfire, later for watercooling I'll remplace it, I will show more pictures of it the next update! Thanks to all people who follow my work Next update soon
The depth of the multi layered sides is very cool! Normally I'd suggest using countersunk screws for panels, but the the big bolts you're using now really add something to the look. Can't wait to see the other sidepanel
Thanks guys! And for the bolts I bought M5 x 15 mm aluminium paint in black from a bike shop. They are very expensive for this I show em not all the time, don't want to damage em... Aluminium is weak and paint can be easyly streched. ANDDDD This is the last uptade before to show you my actual state, after this topic you will know all or armost all of my work, I will continue it of course 1st good news, I have my first sponsor This is not about PC components but for UV paint I searched it since long time and finaly one french society offer me what I need Actually they don't sell international but at jully 2014 will sale almost everywhere The paint is uncolore and when UV is ON starts to shine, perfect to not avoir warently It is acrlylic paint, I will test it at high temperature before to paint motherboard, don't want surprises They offer me too other standard UV paint, I maybe forgived to say but it will be a UV mod, actually I have 3x 30cm UV cold cathode + 2x10 cm UV cold cathode. I'll show you them soon and do first paint try. And now the last pics New stuff incomed! Seasonic P-660 to remplace my old Seasonic S12 500w after 11 years used it. The old one works fine I just need more power for...* *... for the new 7870 to make Crossfire And the case now, I filied the bolts to make them nicer and fixed the door. I don't will be able to buy WC parts at first time, then I found a way to give some fresh air to the graphic card, crossfire need it! Later and with the WC incoming, I will remplace this system and cut a new plexi. A little familly portrait And the second aluminium front pannel for the fans. AND HERE JUST DREMEL IS DEAD!!! I need to wait 1 MONTH TO REPAIR... Then I sended it one week ago, 3 more weeks to wait... I really hope it will be back soon. But before his dead, I did another hole to free space for fan. Then in the next 3 weeks I'll try to continue what I can and try to show you some pics about new paint some new stuff and do some finishes before the second black paint at frame and the white pearl paint at aluminium pannels. See you soon guys! If you have any ideas to share with me, it will be very nice from you
