well I wanted to make this a poll

but I have searched the forums and didn't find any reasonable answer to what I am looking for.

I downloaded Litestep, Windowsblinds, and DesktopX. I am wondering what everybody actually uses and likes. I would like to know some of the personal opinions before I actually install one of them.

aditionally I want to know any of the bad sides to each program so I have a way to judge it.

I am on a W2K Pro and the hidden theme section in it doesn't suit my needs and also I don't think the theme hack in XP would work

    ok

Windowblinds is actually pretty good... it's come a long way - I remember it being a bit of a hog but it seems pretty smoothly done now.
    I'd recommend trying it out.

    i use windowsblinds 4

with the longhorn slate 4051 theme to it

my opinions on it ? It was well worth the dl time ( few seconds, :) )

if i could have a default skin of windows, itd be the one i have now

as for bugs/glitches, well ive only seen 2 with the theme i have

1: sometimes the start button disappear ( the actual button, not the whole taskbar, or its use, its just a matter of click in the spot where it is / was if you wanna say it like that, and itll pop up again )

2: sometimes wen installing programs, the ok/cancel buttons they have there are like this

    Code:

    ---Ca----
    | ncel |
    ---------

its still readable, and its just anoying wen you install stuff ( even tho its obvious wat the buttons are, cause there always in the same place )
    ___________________________

Even with the bugs... ( each theme has its own bugs, obviously ) i still would make this my default skin if i didnt have windowblinds

No it won't work, as StyleXP is just a hack on the built in theming that's in XP and 2k3 that lets you use unsigned themes.

i changed my uxtheme.dll and just apply the skins through teh desktop properties thing. Easy , and doesnt require me to use extra annoying progs, or cracked progs :grr: :eyebrow:
