Case Mod - In Progress BF4 Radio Beacon Casemod by Ironknocker

Hello,

Then I start my Worklog.

I build this Casi at the We-Mod-it.com Casemod Contest.

My goal is to build dustproof possible workshop computer

The Case I'll rebuilding so that it looks like the Raidio Beacon of BF 4

What is being done:

designed front new
Window cut
build Conditions
Hardtubing
seal housing
lighting
switch

Material is :

aluminum Plexi

I then plays after a long back another round and used to make a few images from the game.








Then I searched and found the original in the internet.



When housing and the front some things are compared from the game to the original differently.
I Buld it from the Game.

Then I once slaughtered my garage computer and expanded the hardware.

The motherboard I will install in the Beacon.



Next, I once searched my treasure box by material and what is found.

That's a old console I purchased cheaply at the Ham Radio.






The small WLAN Antenna I will replace it with a blade antenna.

The I then found today in the bay.



Then I have bought various connectors.
One part comes from China the rest of Conrad.
Guess that should come quite quickly, otherwise more will be ordered at Conrad.

Update Time.

So packets have come

First the case.


Then the antenna and connector has arrived yet.



Same time to unpack the case.

Since I'll probably have to change more than planned. Since the welder is glowing.



The antenna is super.




When Conrad packet NEN Fail was there.

Once a plug and a socket.

Only stupid that was labeled or packaged a false.




After I then measured the Case I realized that will not fit with 2x80 radiator.

So the case must 10 mm raised.

For this, I will cut the cover and (front and back Old) to the side parts and weld it together.

Then I'll make a front and bottom.

The new front I drew ever with CAD.

I have drawn even further.

First all components radiator reservoir and pump

Radiator will be a 2x 80



The reserve tank I finished from 30 square tube The Hatched is the area where later the water is inside. The rest of the expansion tank frame is made of a halved 30 square tube.



So the system looks ready later.

Today, more packets are yet come.

A large packet of Aquatuning and one from Conrad.

One can hardly believe it. Conrad has again delivered wrong. So again complained about.

Then it was still in the basement

First I cut the lid.




Then I have the front shortened and welded part of the lid







The same, I then made with the back






Now I could be all just sand.





In the next step I have the parts new thread cut and bolted to the bottom plate.





From a scrap piece I then cut the new base plate.




Finally, I still set the new location from the motherboard and power supply.




The cables later gone down. At the plug I come later through the IO port of the old rear.

That was a really good weld job. What are you using for that?

 

the mod will be my worstation at the Workshop.

I welded it with Tig / Wig

 

Welding a PC case = Overkill = Loving it!!

Ya Ali I have to agree with you.
How good a modder is can be recognized by his handiwork.

The day I started with the front panel.

For this purpose I have printed the drawing and glued to a piece of sheet metal.

Then I could work out with the start of the openings




After all holes were finished, I folded back the sheet with the folding machine.




Fitting perfect.

So on it goes to the front.

First I printed the front glued to a sheet and then oriented.




From the rotary switch I need only one switch plane, as I have cut off the other, thus shortening the switch.




Then I could install switch and lamp.




Next is a plug (the rest comes hopefully) and the antenna.






The panel I have also made aluminum.

In addition I have a folded sheet cut and welded.

Today we went to the reservoir.

The will be the supporting part in the case.

The container is made of 25mm aluminum tube.

The tube I cut with the band saw.



In the second step I have stretched the tubes on a board and welded.





Then grind everything



On one side I have a lid welded to determine the load capacity.

115ml fit inside.




Next came the strikes 1. Connection and the second cap.






Everything tight.

 

It continued with the expansion tank

First I cut pipes for the other two sides.



he tubes I then halved.



Then all welding and grinding.







Now I was able to put under the case.





Today is still material come.
First the paint.
2K Nato Oliv dull matt. Woe is not dull matt





Then RPS cups are yet come for my Sata gun.



And finally, Conrad has actually hammer out after 3 incorrect deliveries to send me the correct plug.



Then I quickly folded the box for the battery dummy or housing for the pump and Radi.
In addition I have first to cut a sheet.

Proportions fit well. The corners are then welded at the weekend.

Today a packet has arrived again.

Here's the overview.



A BT speaker is designed for Case Fits. The speaker is then controlled via the computer internal BT transmitter.

First I again halved a piece of the pipe. Am I a happiness that the pipe has the same wall thickness as the thickness of the MB tray.




Then drill a few holes.




Next, I cut the cutouts with the scroll saw.

For wall mounting I just turn a pair of rakes in the wall and hanging the in the slots

In the reservoir, I have welded a strut.
