Looking to control my gaming pc from a spin bike in the garage and I was wondering if there is a way of doing this internally through the wireless or wired network without having the signal sent over the web like teamviewer etc would do? If I could directly patch in to the display, keyboard, mouse and sound from my PC so the connection is very low latency that would be ideal.

    Many thanks

Anyway to use keyboard, mouse and monitor with a android tablet if I was to use this with that?

Also does Kainy work internally within a network or does it have to leave to an external server?

    Thanks

With some of those costs almost worth while to just build a cheaper gaming pc :). Will see if there is a cheaper way of doing this. Thanks for the info.

Well the USB is the easy (and nearly free considering the cost of the Pi) part as you can see, but getting the display and audio back is the hard (and expensive) part :).

So I could combine things then. USB control through the PI and display and sound with VNC or Kainy. But I would need a windows pc for this, as the usb over ip wouldn't be compatible with an android device?

If you got VNC, you could just use your Pi as a VNC client directly too - but keep in mind that VNC performance is not usable for anything else but basic computer usage. Forget about gaming, or even youtube videos through VNC.

Well I need something which I could use for gaming, not twitch shooter gaming but enough for strategy or 3rd person game. Is Kainy any better?

    Thanks

I personally use splashtop, as it is compatible with ios and windows and it has an option to go for smooth vs speed, which is quite a useful feature. It also remembers your PCs so you don't have to mess around with the IP addresses and all that stuff :)

So this would work on my internal network? So I just need a simple pc to receive the stream? Thanks

    shocked nobody recommended RDP

assuming you're on windows, RDP is the best possible option for this kind of thing

Rdp doesn't allow you to run games from my previous experience a few years back
