Ok so, this is all from driving home 200miles tonight...

    High Beams:

I don't get why some people *insist* on driving with their high beams, even in well-lit roads, and then decide to tail-gate you for several miles and even when you switch lanes, they follow you. I don't know bout you guys, but it seriously ticks me off because I can't see crap behind me except for 2 incredibly intense white-yellow-blue orbs of light! Argh!
The worst are SUVs, or those jeeps with the multiple headlights (6+).

    Blinkers:

This is the most infuriating thing.. when people don't use blinkers. Either when turning or merging. All of a sudden they slam on the brakes and make a sharp turn, leaving you to slam on the brakes and hope the guy behind you also slams on the break, etc.

The worst though, is people who merge on the highway at 80+mph without indicating! I had a bus suddenly start merging on me while I was passing him (with my indicator on). And I generally get these guys that merge onto my lane when I'm clearly going faster then them, and without them bothering to indicate.
Or worse still, when I turn my blinker on, check my right (and turn my head), start merging, and some bozo suddenly merges out of nowhere, without indicator, onto the spot I was merging on. Gah!.

I wish public transport was more convenient here -.-

I hate it when people cut across several lanes at the last minute without signaling.
as for people who tailgate. if they can pass but they wont, i just slowly slow down. they will pass eventually.

People who don't indicate always bother me, especially when they change lanes in the middle of the intersection.

Personally I hate HID headlights, if a car coming towards me with HIDs goes over a bump I get completely dazzled instantly. That and lorries overtaking each other very slowly on motorways are my two pet driving hates.

I have a theory that Camry drivers are more likely to do this than any other car on the road. No offense to Camry drivers.

I hate that so much! Seems they dont have any common sense to turn off their high beams. Lucky for me we put brighter lights in all our cars so we can see better at night (So we can see the deer at night) so if someone has their high beams on we can get them to turn them off VERY quickly. lol just a quick flash of our high beams and they turn them off until we go by. And we actually adjust our headlights proper unlike so many people so they arent aiming up at the car infront of you, but instead aiming at the road so it doesnt bother cars ahead of you.

Slow drivers that speed up are sooo annoying, along with people that dont drive a consistent speed but instead speed up and slow down. I just hate following people period. Unless they are driving faster than me and are able to navigate through properly. People who slow down to pass semi's are so annoying. Semi's arent that scary!

Basically at least 85% of the people on the road are bad drivers according to me. :)

85% you reckon, hope its not me. (my dad makes me go to this driving course for learner drivers, apparently they used to teach all the English military how to drive the large vehicles or something).

my cars beams are HID lights, have to take them off when the car gets a warrant, NZ law says you cant have added wiring to the power or something? still not dumb enough to annoy other drivers with them.

Fog lamps used when it's not foggy are my pet hate. They do not illuminate the road ahead of the car so they are totally pointless unless it's foggy.

I get flashed a lot because people think I have my full beam (high beam) on when I don't. If they do flash I usually blind them with a quick burst just to show them I'm not a retard.

+1 for foglights. it's not cool, people! leave them for fog and rainy motorways!

also: people who drive in the fast lane when the rest of the road is empty. MOVE OVER!

    +1 for high beams.
I love night cycling, but drivers tend to think I have eyes that can see through steel because they never turn them off, leaving me blinded and unable to see where I'm going.

High beam? Do you mean Main beam?

What annoys me is that the majority of people that have adjustable Front Headlights adjust them so that they are at their highest. Which basically means that yes, they can see a little further ahead, but end up being very bright. Also, the daft buggers that drive about with their rear foglight switched on. It really does dazzle when it's not foggy and is very distracting. Nub-heads.

And tail-gators - we need to have this policed as they do in Germany. I don't think anyone on this earth has the reactions of a gnat on speed. And sometimes that's the distance the c**t behind you likes to drive.

Rear foglamps when it's not raining heavily annoys the heck out of me. If visibility has been severely reduced, fine... but as soon as the rain slows to a light drizzle TURN THEM OFF.

No one seems to understand how indicating at a roundabout works any more, I hate having to guess where the hell someone is actually going. Going right without indicating AT ALL, going straight on but indicating left, indicating right then going straight on. It's a wonder how these people don't get in more accidents!

    ---

Dipped beam (low beam, passing beam, meeting beam)

Dipped-beam headlamps provide a light distribution to give adequate forward and lateral illumination without blinding other road users with excessive glare. This beam is specified for use whenever other vehicles are present ahead.

Main beam (brights, high beam, driving beam, full beam)

Main-beam headlamps provide an intense, centre-weighted distribution of light with no particular control of glare. Therefore, they are only suitable for use when alone on the road, as the glare they produce will dazzle other drivers.

I don't mind extra front-lights, depending on how bright they are. If they're used as running lights etc (i.e. change the bulb in your foglights), then that's fine by me. Some cars even have twinkly lights on the frontjust for that.

My number 1 hate is people who drive at a constant speed through multiple speed limits. Near my house there's a road which goes derestricted-50-40-30-derestricted, and I often end up stuck behind people doing 40mph. The 30mph section is a very small, tight village where a 20 limit would be much more appropriate half the way.

Have you considered that your headlights may be set too high?

I hate having a small low car, every cars main beam is at my eye level, cars that pull up behind me are wider than my car, so the lights appear in both headlights simultaneosly blinding me from both mirrors :(

Tailgators and stupid drivers behind me face me slowing down to 10-15mph below the speed limit, i cant stand it, when they back off ill speed up, or if they try to over take me, i speed up, just because.
Ive not pulled away from green ligths before as the person behind me has his mobile in-hand, made the phone-hand gesture and shook it around so he could see it quickly put it down and continued on:D ( does this make me a *******??)

I also hate how people think because i have an old car it must be slow, so overtake me and then slow down. I get a fair few looks on motorways, and undertaking people on roundabouts :D

Number one and very local hate though has to be indicators on roundabouts.
There is a roundabout not 2 roads away from me, and while not terribly big, it does have SIX exits off of it, the people using the roundabout don't know how to use their indicators, and when i do use mine properly, indicating just before i have to pull off they dont understand which way i am going though i am still indicating right....

Regularly i have to use the fith exit, but i allways have people pulling out on me at the 3rd, and they look at me like its my fault? I don't know...I wish my horn worked lately!

Just checked £18.99, thanks for pointing it out though, i'll just get a cheap one ordered.
The reason my air horn has stopped working...its mounted at the front of the car, with no grill, pointing upwards and so collected water, and well, became my water feature. How many people can say they have one of those in their car?

Nothing bad like a Dual 10000k HID On High On a 4X4 CAR!!!!!

Dude people here hook a 10K HID to the Fog Lights and 10K HID to the main lights. and HIGH Beam you on the high way. You go blind at 1 sec if you look at the back mirror.

    Stupid

Front fog lights are great on country roads at night as they illuminate the kerb area, now rear fog lights on the other hand are the work of the devil.
Getting stuck behind some **** who puts them on when there's a little drizzle is the most annoying thing imaginable, they have this tendency to burn a hole in your retina :eeek:
