seeing as tomboy is getting dropped from ubuntu [yeah i know i can get it from the repos...] thought it'd be a good time to look at alternatives... for those who don;t know what it is tomboy is a note-taking app. what i need it to do: Work on Windows [tomboy works on windows... ish...] and *buntu Linux Sync to a HDD/Network folder not be completely cloud-based/require me to set up [yet another] account and of course do the stuff tomboy does
I know you say you don't want something cloud-based, but have you considered Evernote? It works under Windows, Ubuntu (using application Nevernote), iOS and Android, so you always have your notes with you. I find it invaluable tbh.
