Hi there, its been a while since i've needed help, probably as i haven't upgraded anything for a while My problem is that when i startup and do not run any programs except for task manager (to see CPU usage) the reading jumps between 25 and 85% even when i am just sitting looking at the screen. Also 3GB of RAM is being taken up (out of 8GB) I have checked that there is nothing running in the background, if there was anything that required the CPU to work this hard i'd notice it. (well i think i would) Obviously this is having a massive effect on gaming. Have i missed something simple when installing the new SSD, i doubt i have missed any drivers as there is nothing highlighted in device manager. TIA
Hi there i have attached a screen shot of what the system is running a couple of minutes after switching on. Just noticed that my sig is also wrong, as i've unclocked and just running the 4 cores @ stock speed of 3GHz
Click on the CPU header to sort the processes into %age usage order. Is WMI Provider Host (wmiprvse.exe) the process that is utilising the most CPU usage?
it was that but now it seems to have stopped doing it. Thats why its been a couple of days since i last posted. Can't play any games now (even older ones), the frame rates drop frequently as if something else is drawing from the CPU a lot. Its like its only using one core at times and therefore doesn't have the performance to run the games.
Still got no idea what the problem is. Regardless of where the game is installed the same problem occurrs. Everything else is running fine. I just don't get it. Any ideas, anyone???
Somethings not firing right. Just checked the Passmark site for my card and CPU AMD Phenom II X4 960T: Average mark = 3880 Nvidia Ge-Force GTX 460: Average mark = 2666 My system: CPU = 2362 and GPU= 1973
When you upgraded to SSD did you check that AHCI was enabled? I think its still applicable on AMD boards
