    Definite purchase for me.

This game was amazing on my brand new £1500 (P3 500mhz, 128MB RAM 12GB Hdrive!!!) laptop back in early 2000.

Amazing atmosphere with the lights off and headphones on.

Anyone know if the collector's edition's digital download vouchers are claimed on Steam?

This is a must buy, played HW1 a lot, I hope they have kept the mechanics all the same and not messed with it too much. All it needed was a HD faeclift :)

Pre-order is already on in Steam

Disappointed it is a Steam only release :( - GOG DRM free all the way for me.

    And no Cataclysm...

Is there a source? I don't want to throw £100 at them and get something worse than Uplay, when Steam version is available.

As this is a rehash I think I'll wait until the rush is over and then pick it up when it is on sale, especially as I just bought Sins Of The Solar Empire - Rebellion for less than £5. :)

Not quite a rehash, straight up Remaster, they've left all the gameplay and mechanics the same, so it's pure graphical updates.

That said, while I would love to pre-order the Limited Edition; It Is a Gearbox Game, despite the core of it being built by Relic over fifteen years ago, so I might wait and see if it actually runs well first.

That foot tall Mothership statue is really rather tempting, though...

'Homeword and Homeworld 2 have seen significant overhaul in terms of graphics, audio and even gameplay mechanics at the hands of Gearbox.'

Me thinks someone didn't read the article properly. :)

Gameplay is the new multiplayer mode only. The single player is as it always has been.

I think you are underestimating the significance of game mechanics. Even slightly changing the resource levels can have a significant effect on how the game actually plays and even the tactics that you may employ.

I thought that Cataclsym was hands-down the best of the lot in terms of gameplay.

HW2 was pretty back in the day (no doubt it'll be a lot prettier now), but I grew weary with the gameplay as the sides were identical, save that one used lasers, the other torpedoes.

Didn't they 'lose' Cataclysm? I recall something about them not having a copy of the game's source code or something along those lines...

Yep! The source code was lost, hence it not being part of this. I just want those shield drones... infected ships... the damned "Sun Gun!".

Let's hope auto gather is in home world 1 will make it a very slow game without it. I still remember spending hours mining on certain maps.
