i'd say 5770 due to having Dx11 while performs at at same price as gtx260.

just read a review says the gtx260 performs better than the 5770. but your right it is direct11 but cant the gtx260 be direct11 in the future with a firmware update? what is so good about the direct11?

Games will start supporting DX11 in the future, but if the games you play the most all are better on the GTX 260, go for the GTX 260.

i'm in the same boat and i'm getting a 5770 - you will end up slightly dissapointed if you got one now i'm sure with it probably being a bit slow to support dx11 fully (considering other than a few tickbox games it won't be supported for a good year yet) and it's imminent christmas/new nvidia pricedrops but fact remains it's pretty much on par or slightly slower than a gtx260 and on average £5-10 cheaper. weigh up nvidia physX support vs. dx.11, add on packages offered (most 260's offer free batman vs. ati's free dirt2) and remember the ati sucks far less power (less electricity bills, less money on a PSU) and decide for yourself. of interest is both scale very well with multicard setups (around 80% faster ati vs. 85% nvidia) - only you can decide but gtx260's are gonna only get rarer without dropping in price wheras i'm sure in a year or so there will be a glut of 5770's around so both support and chances of a cheap 2nd card favor the ati.

i decided on the gtx 260 because the 5770 is not as good as the gtx, plus gtx 260 comes with batman, also your right in its early to say it works well with directx11. because it needs the speed. so im sure in a years time there will be better cards, but your also right the gtx260 will get rarer because it cost so much to make, as a result i think i get more of my moneys worth with the gtx260 so i decided to go for that.

    many thanks

aye if your really a gamer and buying new, you would have bought the 5850- all that low end stuff is outdated and still over 100

    bad buy

    dx11 isn't a firmware update

i am a gamer but i also am not a millionaire. "BEGGERS CANT BE CHOOSERS". i buy the best that i can afford, right now £135 is around my price budget, and for what i can see that the best card at that price. includeds batman game too.

4890 is good but if you can get the gtx275 you will be laughing! As a seperate card its quicker than the 4890. In sli its also a beast but 4890 crossfire is a little quicker as for some reason ati cards scale a little better at the moment.

gtx 275 cards are expensive, cheapest i see is £175. not willing to spend nearly a ps3 price on a graphic card. hd4890 or gtx260 is around £135

If you running 1 card no motherboard has to be crossfire compatible or sli for that. Neither does your PSU. the GD65 is both sli and crossfire just so you know. Also a PSU thats branded sli or crossfire has only been done so because it has more than 1 pci-e connector and as such can in theory connect up more than one card. When buyinbg a psu just check the ampage on the 12v rails and wattage. Relay this info with the info from your card vendor eg 2 cards needs 40amps and 650 watts so buy a PSU with more amps and more watts and you should be more than safe.
