It's basically a race between teams. All members of a team fold using the same team name until the Challenge finishes, and the aggregate points are recorded. In the past it has been a simple race to 20,000,000 but there are two teams with much larger numbers of members, meaning the rest of us didn't stand a chance of winning, so last year a handicapping system was introduced. This year will probably be different, discussions are already underway.

Previously our team have folded under the name CustomBitChimps, or CPChimps. Google for these to find out more.

Our summary for 2009 can be found here. That year was exceptional, we won't be going for 7 weeks this time around. Perhaps 1 week to 10 days.

Not been folding for a bit [tech/money issues]... but if coolamasta doesn't want to do it this time I'll happily captain the team...

Haven't folded for a while now, but would gladly jump back on with all my rigs for the challenge if it is only a week or so.

    2600k, 2500k, 2xGTX460 all OC's to stupid levels.

I'll get as many rigs as possible folding if it's only for a couple of weeks.

April is being talked about, apparently May (which it was in the past) can be too hot for some people. Anyone care to make a long term weather forecast!

It should be held in winter, lets be honest.

We're talking about a competition which involves turning on all your PC's and running them full tilt for weeks!

Winter in the northern hemisphere means scorching summer in the southern hemisphere. Not really fair for our fellow folders down under.

Hi Guys, sorry for not getting something up already for Chimps Challenge this year but work commitments are crazy at the moment and I have just started fitting a new kitchen in my spare time which is becoming a nightmare! :(

I honestly don't think with how busy things are for me at the moment that I can captain the CC this year so if you want to have a go at it RedFlames (as I do remember you saying last year you were up for it) then I am happy to chat with you about it and introduce you on the Captains forum so you can meet the others and this year I will sit as Vice Captain to help out and be chucking 350,000-400,000 PPD into it as well :)

Would anyone have any objections to RedFlames being captain and myself being Vice Captain this year? Failing that does anyone else want to be Captain?

RedFlames - do you think you can get some folding kit online at least for the challenge as ideally the captain needs to be a regular contributor to the team :)

    I'll be in.

What date is it on? I'll get hold of some more rigs just for the challenge.

I've tried joining the CC forum but received no confirmation email to say its activated :(

This was a couple of weeks ago now.

I'm going to have everything folding even my lappy which pulls about 1500ppd lol :D

I'll be folding for the challenge [and a bit before to iron out any kinks], only thing stopping me folding atm is all my kit is held together with duct tape and wishful thinking... [and the leccy bill]

coola... could you pm any and all relevant info, the passkeys and whatnot...
