http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/starts-18th-2-x-20-steam-vouchers-just-30-currys-pc-world-1930955 Deal apparently goes live on Curry's PC World's website on the 18th June, then its the Steam summer sale on the 19th. "Starting the 18/6 this promotion will go live midnight online and then 9am in the stores." Thought I'd spread the word. Enjoy.
That is a fantastic deal! Only question is how much money do I really want to add to my Steam Wallet!
The voucher is redeemed on Steam and the total amount is added to your account. Then you can chip away at it but it's tied to your account. An excellent deal! Basically for every pound spent on Steam the actual cost is 75 pence!
Excellent! Seeing how much I buy off Steam, I could probably justify spending quite a few pennies on a few vouchers for the next few years... Edit: Unfortunately it may be bogus.
Not convinced it is bogus, my reason being that Currys have just limited the number of £20 Steam Wallet vouchers you can add to your basket online from 15 to 4. So that hints very strongly that this promotion is going ahead!
Well, I just figured out a work around that doesn't involve changing my e-mail address! Not that I intend to buy more than 4 vouchers anyway!
I've gone back onto the hotukdeals thread and its been changed to 'not a valid deal'. I don't what's happened and why its been changed.
It says in the comments..... "Hey all, to save you from the trip to your local store - this is definitely not happening now. As the guy who briefed the POS, submitted the deal, did all the negotiation BUT no longer an employee of the retailer this is as close to the best source available. Search my username on Twitter - legit. In saying this, don't hate Dixons for their poor communication to the stores on this. It's a very tough job and some poor person has had to pick up my workload and 1500 products - it's not easy. I really wanted to do this deal for PC gamers and to encourage you to go to your local store. Without getting too preachy, I spent two years getting all the best PC gaming peripherals into store and this was going to be my way of really getting PC gamers aware of it. It's a shame and I apologise for my failure - please consider PC World for your next gaming peripheral purchase for the sake of my friends still there. Thanks."
