finally got around to taking pics of my new setup P4 2.8GHz 800mhz FSB 1GB PC3200 DDR RAM ASUS P4P800 (inspired by bT review ) 120GB SATA HDD and a DangerDen MAZE4 CPU block i drilled a small 5mm hole into the side of the poly top and flushly stuck in an led. connected IDE ribbon cable to the led pins and wired it to a molex. you can't see the ribbon wire, because thats the point, as its very discrete and runs along the side of the block and then sneaks over and behind the mobo. enjoy the eyecandy, w/ and without flash. any suggestions/comments?
lol looks rather good in that pic from other angles it looks worse i plan on fixing this by getting silicone tubing in the very near future, so long as i can find a local retailer
A suitably sized spring wrapped round the hose at that point might help. It could be a bit fiddly to get it on but worth it.
yeh shes 3/8ID tubing forced over 1/2 barbs i think its a lost cause untill the tubing is replaced...
Looks good. I guess it was inspired by coolmiester's maze 3 mod? and yeah. that kink looks pretty bad.
Looks nice, but 2 problems: 1 - the kink in the tubing is not good 2 - you have a dual channel Asus intel i865PE or i875P mobo. By the different colouration of the ram slots that are unfilled (blue and black) id say you arent utilising the dual DDR mode on your mobo as one of the sticks should be moved to an adjacently coloured slot.
yea the kink will be fixed like i said when i can find better tubing as for the dual channel ram thing yea i realised that last week, see i've never used this technology before, so i didnt know when i installed it. now im just waiting for a moment when i am able to shutdown to fix it
lol i think he meant make it dual channel couldn't you just use a longer bit of tubing, and so a wider curve to get rid of the kink?
dual channel is fixed also i could use longer tubing yes, but when i redid the tubing this was all i had left its cheap 10cents/yard acrylic tubing anyways
i must also add that the horribly large rounded IDE cable will be gone as soon as i can find a north american based reseller for those tiny IDE-SATA converters (help!?) the ide wires you see running up are power for my external LCD units, which also will be routed through the bottom when i get a new serial connection for my motherboard, and the P4 12v power cable will be braided next week (along with bl00 heatspreaders for my rams) and glowy acrylic footsteps mmm glowy i will also be recieving laser cut fan grills for my radiator and 2 LED fans, the design will be a surprise
