And this is why competition is a good thing, for to long Nvidia has been changing silly money because they knew they could get away with it. /rant

I am quite tempted by 2x MSi 770's currently going for £282 each. I'm sure I could get £100 for my 2 570's.

While the 570's are fast enough the lack of memory is killing them.

Nice to see the prices of the cards being dropped and whilst I could go for 780ti sli next month, I will still wait for Maxwell and see how those perform.

I think next month it might have to be a case of buying another 680 and waterblock with a new psu, and that should keep me sweat till Maxwell releases.

That is unless of course the 780ti are just stupidly faster than the 780's and Titan.

780 ti(tan) ...just a Titan with up'd clocks and lower price? And if it is therefore faster/cheaper than a Titan ...what point is therefore to the Titan? It will go eol asap?

I'm a Titan owner and I feel robbed! A victim to a good marketing campaign. But if the 780Ti is a response to the R9 290x causing price drops to remain competitive then it's negated the initial marketing efforts of the Titan (charge a **** load for an uber card, so they can charge a higher price point when they released the 780). If the 780ti is better than the Titan (surly it must be.. The 780 is in many tests) then us 'foolish' Titan owners have been miss-sold a flagship product.

I guess the reality is, the marketing worked.. The Titan sold, held the top spot (*cough* 7990) enabled the higher asking price for the 780 which also sold well. Now a competitive AMD product is on the scene Nvidia have gotta play the game..

Haha, I'm such a victim.. Anyone wanna buy a Titan.

Titan has sat unopposed at the pinnacle of single card performance from launch, and still does until we know what the 780Ti is like. I'd argue that you got your money's worth, knowing full well it would be replaced some time down the line, and that you still have a stonking fast card.

I've lost £100 near enough on my GTX 780 (an EVGA SC model), but I'm not bothered. It cost what it cost when I bought it, and it still works fine!

Nvidia makes a good case for a $499 780. Still, we need to see what Mantle does.

I'm quite tempted by a 770 now, and I quite like the ASUS cards custom cooler, so I'd probably go for that. I don't really need a new card at the moment though, but if i was forced into it, that would now be my default choice as I could just about stretch to the new price.

AMD's new low level programming language, which will allow direct access to their GPU's. Yet to be seen in the wild... But supported by GCN (so 7 series onward).

I wouldn't exactly call it new, Nvidia has had a low level API for 5 years in the form of NVAPI.
My guess is Mantel will be used more as a way to get the most out of low end hardware on the PC enabling games to be played without the need for graphics cards if using AMD APU's

Why 2 770 @ £282 each, when for less you can get 2 280X or a 7990 that provide more speed?
You can even get 2 280X Toxic, and still have enough left, to buy beers.
