Well I have looked at my finances and the Headphones and Sound card are a go, new Mic not so much but that can wait. I think the sound card will help with my Mic quality anyway. At least I hope so.

Having low quality audio recording and being quiet in the videos I record for some reason. Though that might have been the crappy Mic on the Headset.

haha mate when I got the HD595's I ended up having to bin a fair few MP3 albums because
the quality was rubbish and I couldn't tell with the old £30 headphones headphones I had.

you will see a huge difference with them headphones and that sound card



and when you get the mic i can troll you the same way as I do Nafapater about his mic.

Quiet recording? It's likely you just need to activate the mic boost feature somewhere in windows or realtek or whatever sound drivers you use!

If you do youtube videos please get a high-quality mic at least the one I suggested. Samson make some great mics but they are not cheap.

Blue Snowball is great (from the youtube vids I've heard that use it), and I can imagine the Samson one is also great seeing as its Samson and costs the part

Just checked the Snowball cost, and you're right the Samson is nicely priced - still cheaper than the Blue Snowball even at £40

Boosting the audio in Windows etc adds lots of noise which makes unbearable for anyone i talk to.

I might go with the Samson will see how things go.

Well I did some testing if my Trust Desk Mic this morning. It picks up my audio quite well.

Its sat on my desk behind my keyboard. The Samson appeals to me as it can be clipped out of The way.

As long as it can pick up my voice clean and clear.

Though I might leave it till end of December.

I use it on my desk and clipped to the top of my laptop. It is made to be a fair bit away from your mouth. Skype comes across with often better then telephone quality when talking with family in the US. (I do have 100MB Fiber connection though) and I often use it for many people talking in one room and that works well to if you talk in its general direction.

best over the counter mic I have tested is the logitech desk mic.

That's because it's a terrible way to amplify a microphone. The same microphone through a decent preamp on a quality sound card would probably sound fine for VOIP.

So if i simply buy the sound card and headphones it should improve my microphone audio without needing to replace my Mic.
