So recently purchasing a 60d witha 70-200mm f4 l usm lens, I have taken a few photos and am loving the quality and sharpness of the camera/lens.
I do have a old kit 18-55mm is lens that came with my old 450d, but I am looking for something that gives that better quality in the photos..
Can anyone recommend any lens that won't break the bank? It doesn't have to be canon..
Oh and it doesn't have to be f1.8 either.. Anything above that will be fine,
    Thanks

    Whats your budget? 24-105l f4 is around £480 - £500 2nd hand and is a cracking lens.

Also look at the canon 50mm 2.8 prime (nifty fifty) its about £70 -80 new and itls great quality glass

I was hoping around the £300 mark.. Can always go a little higher, but not the £500 mark I am afraid.
    Canon 50mm 2.8? I've seen a 1.8 or 1.4.. Did you mean that?

Try Canon 15-85 mm? But you'd struggle to beat 70-200 f4 L in image quality with any walk-about lens.

Problem with 24-105 is that it's a full frame lens, not wide enough on crop at short end. 17-40 f4 L is also a full frame lens, designed to be ultra wide angle.

If you get a good copy the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 is excellent value for money.

I have the non-IS version it's a great lens, the non-IS version is normally sharper than IS version.

For off brand, my housemate has the Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4. It's sharp, not very big and has great range. It's a great lens.

I'd go for either my a 2nd hand of my current lens the old sigma 18-50 the newer os version
or a tamron 17-50 non IS , but I'm not loving the tamron brand right now due to the faff of my 70-300 lens.
shots with my sigma can be seen here

Or find a canon 35mm f2 if you fancy a prime on top of your current kit lens

Another shout for the 17-50 non IS Tamron here. It's not as sharp as my 70-200 2.8IS, but it lives on my camera more and for the price I'm not sure I could beat it.
