I've a HP micro server running Server 2008 r2 and a PC running windows 7, the server has network shares, when I access them on Windows 7 i have to enter the username and password every time despite clicking remember next time. How come? Do I need to do something in server 2008?
Try mapping it as a network drive. Also, try: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Credential Manager\ >>>>Add a Windows Credential
Another option is if you add an account with the same username and password on the server as your desktop you shouldn't be prompted for a password as well
Could try what's suggested in this technet thread https://social.technet.microsoft.co...ped-drive-credentials?forum=w7itpronetworking basically try "remotePCName\Username" for user, or try ".\Username" or "\Username" for the username options.. or try NET USE to add the share from commandline
aha! The credential manager was saving it as a local computer login, changing the local to server set the persistence level to Enterprise Cheers everyone!
