Am helping a colleague with an iPhone issue.

Messages to hiss daughters iPhone aren't going through as an imessage or text message.

I have deleted the contact and using just the number, I have toggled the imessage off and on but still just fails.

Who's phone is at fault and what checks can I do

    Cheers

if even an sms is not being delivered surely the number has been barred or something? Did you check on the contact when it was on the phone to make sure it wasn't blocked

See if you can phone them, the network might give you a message indicating the problem.

Try turning off iMessage on both devices and then send a normal SMS (green bubble). It should go through no problem if network hasn't put in any blockage.

Can you send other people iMessages? I suspect it's the receiving device at fault.

Also try send imseesage to receiver's Apple ID Email address. I've found sometimes imessage doesn't pick up the phone number.

I had a weird thing once where I had someones contact saved twice so when they imessaged me etc. it started coming from their email address not their phone number - it's not something weird like that?

I don't think so, I went through his contacts to check for duplicated or an error in the details bit nothing, I've asked to bring his kids phone in, has anyone tried taking a phone from a 15 year old girl!!!
