Hi, I would so grateful if someone could tell me how to convert M3U files to MP3. I am unable to find a single utility on the web for this. Many thanks in advance. Si... [from the UK]
All is not lost, you can still get your music into an mp3 file. Capture the music file with a program called "Audacity", then export the file as an mp3, wav or ogg. Then use another program called "Switch" to convert it further to a CDA, for instance.
Actually M3U can be a streaming MP3 file, rather then a playlist, it's used a lot for radio-webcasts.
convert m3u to mp3 Hi there SiH, Converting m3u files to mp3 files CAN be done - I am very proud of myself. Having never done anything like that before (actually until tonight I hadn't even seen an m3u file extension name, I googled and found this site http://en.kioskea.net/faq/sujet-339-how-to-convert-m3u-to-mp3-file I then downloaded the program and converted the files and put them in My Music file. Being a 48 yr old female (as my user name implies), I thought I was quite clever! This kind of 'thing' is not usually up my alley so as my original 'google' had found your question, thought it only right that I should find 'you' again and reply. Good luck.
no its not, its a playlist that points your web stream to where the real mp3 is at, as per the notes inserted above by cpemma
M3U's to MP3 It is simple to do this... much simpler than I figured it to be!!! Just save the list to your desktop for easy access in the M3U format. Then open your Windows Media Player. Choose File, Open, desktop, and the file then as it is playing, you can then sync the Now playing files to your MP3 player device. Or whatever your next step is. I hope this helps!
The same file can be imported repeatedly, but its output formats can be different. Thus, users can receive a series of different audio files even thought they have only one source file. flac to mp3 software
