MOBO: Dell Inc, OUT806 CPU: is a Intel Pentium D, 820, 2.8GHz, daulcore. set on stock speed. RAM: Hyundai electronics 512mb, ddr2, PC2-3200 (200MHz) HDD: WDC WD400BD-75MRA3 40gb No graphics card Thinking about install a grahics card also any ideas. Any ideas on wha ram and graphics card?
Grab an ATI 4550 if its got PCI-E, there avalible in low profile, and ideal for decoding HD media. Yeah just grab any cheap 4GB kit and leave it at that.
From the pic it looks like PCI only. Would it be worth it in that case? EDIT: I just had a look at the Dell manual which confirms it's PCI only. Perhaps something like a 6200? However, if it was me, I wouldn't even bother.
i think you can get a 9600gt low profile I will look around for you EDIT: here we are found one for you http://www.comwales.com/eshop/product.php?productid=85194
Hyundai makes RAM? Who knew. Jaton makes a 9500GT that has a PCI interface, it costs a bundle though, just shy of $100. Theres also the HD2400, 9400GT and the 6200GT that are PCI. All of them are very overpriced as well, though they are low profile.
Try soldering a pci-e x16 connector in there and see what happens. Or just get a pci card like everyone else has suggested.

Wow, hardly any space next to the PCI slot, good luck getting any decent airflow! Overall a nice, small PC though, GL on the upgrades.
are the USB graphics adapters any good? i know you can get them in NZ, dont know if it will offer a performance jump over the onboard.
The on board is ok but wanting better. Yeh you can get the usb graphics things I seen them I dont think they would be that good. Think a PCI card will do.
Well: http://cgi.ebay.com/Dell-Optiplex-G...D2VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em122 Looks like all the GX620's are based in the UK rather than NZ.
