    It depends.

Whats the ambient temp and what is the full spec of your system

I'm leak testing a similar loop(EK Supreme LT, Coolstream 240) and I'm getting a idle temp of 24C(average) with an ambient temp of 19C.

    I've got an i5 2500K with a vcore of 1.39V @5GHz, although it drops to 1.6GHz/1.25V idle.
Take the comparison as you wish, but 30C is a very decent temperature.

The full spec is an intel 2700k, asus maximus iv extreme-z, gtx 580 3gb x2, crucIal m4 ssd, creative sound blaster x-fi

The ambiant temperature I'm not so sure off, I'm in northern Ireland if that helps

    Thanks, Luke

Use a proper benchmark application like Prime95 or IBT to test your load temps :)

I would say IBT is best for stressing just the CPU, Prime95 is a more overall stress tester. With IBT, use at least high and 10 loops.

For Prime95, a good Large FFT test should do, or a Blend test :)

Small FFt's I think it is, and make sure it's set to 8 in the cores/threads bit.

I'd say let it run for a couple of hours, if your testing an overclock however you should aim for at least 12 hours, preferably 24hrs

Depends what your ambient temperature is, but yes that sounds pretty good to me

Prime isn't a great test really. Doesn't really stress using much RAM. Intel Burn test is much better, as set on max, it tests all your ram, and pushes the CPU harder. Also... there's no real need to stress for so long with IBT. If it can do an hour or two set on Max, you can be pretty confident it won't fall over during normal use, no matter how heavy.

ill get intel burn test and give it a go in around 15 mins, is there just a setting to put it on max?

You'll see it... called stress level. Just set to max, and manually set all cores as the auto thing something ignores HT.
