So im looking to get the complete starwars on blu-ray but i know there are like 5 remasters now and i watched one recently and it was horrible! forced CGI that looks completely out of place, i dont want any of that. Is there a version of the films that has the improved image quality and up-scaling but does not have the god awful CGI? I wanted to get this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Star-Wars-...&sr=8-1&keywords=star+wars+collection+blu+ray But im pretty sure it has the CGI im trying to avoid.
If you're wanting the original cuts (ie as they were first seen in the 70s) then you're completely out of luck unfortunately I think. As far as I know the original theatrical cuts have never been released to Blu-Ray.
what im after seems to be called "despecialized edition" which seems be fan made...... FFS https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/comments/3lathy/finally_got_a_bluray_burner_and_decided_to_treat/
I was speaking to a colleague at work about this only yesterday, the despecialized edition looks the best, has the best compromise in terms of not having the crappy CGI scenes, Han shooting first etc... colour/white balance. But as for George ****ing Lucas, **** him in his ****ing face for even ****ing with sh*t that aint broke. I've got the THX digitally remastered without the added CGI scenes.... ON ****ing VHS!!! We want high quality remastering from the original film, no added CGI sh!t.... PLEASE!!! You might find a Laserdisc version around somewhere, seems you can still buy Laserdisc players on ebay!
Come on Guys, we all know that we have to sit though another 20 special edition re-releases that alot of people will buy, before they will give us the De-specialised edition that people will just buy again
The despecialized edition is the only "original" remastered trilogy. I'm thinking I might pull it down - so frustrating that it isn't an official thing. On the basis that I have the have the trilogy three times over (unmolested DVD, remastered DVD, remastered BD), I'm not even sure that's naughty. I thought the theatrical trilogy on DVD would be a good thing, but it's kind of difficult to watch in a large format, being letterboxed 4:3 and stereo - it's almost like they made them suck as hard as possible so people watch the molested version.
looking how to get Star Wars Despecialized Edition, they have made it incredibly complicated and difficult :/ Any help? i understand its a bit of a gray area legally, but i already have them all on DVD thats complete crap. Virgin Media is blocking me from getting to parts of the site i need to do this.
Using Opera browser and enabling turbo mode is a good way of getting around the Virgin Media restriciton. Turbo mode makes you go through Opera's servers and doesn't trigger the Virgin denial secreen.
I think >>link removed, use teh force google if you must<< is the most useful page I've found regarding these films. No need to go to the UK-banned "tehPARADOX.com" site.
Careful about the grey area, folks... As much as it disgusts me that the despecialized versions are even in the grey area to start with :/
yeah gotta be super careful with the forum rules, im currently in the possess of getting the films with some help. Will let you chaps know how i get on. Its not easy at all lol. probably for the best to limit novices molesting the despecialized edition and limiting lots of lesser versions littering torrent sites.
My lawyer told me to not acquiesce at demands concerning the Star Wars Despecialized Edition, therefore I cannot confirm or deny any ownership.
You now need to complete the acquisition with the full artwork and box set http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/ronwlims-custom-bluray-casesbox-set/id/47474
theres a few different versions of the box art, each really cool. Unfortunately i dont have the ISO version and have no idea how to get it. I also dont have a bluray burner or printer of any kind. Ill be storing the MKV on my hard drive and backed up on a USB stick and that will have to do. Iv made a mp4 version as well for possible compatibility issues although they are a lot more compressed. each film is aprox 18GB, the mp4 is 3GB
