First of all, fantastic work everyone as we met our target of adding another 360 GPUs to the team. As such I've unstickied the old countdown thread to let it die in peace. Now is the time for us to set a new target. By my calculations if we add another 750 GPUs to our current output (each producing on average 4k ppd) we can get to #1 in the team rankings and really help out the project. When you add more GPUs, subtract the number from the total and post the new total in size '7', colour 'red', in 'bold', at the bottom of your post. 750 P.S. don't forget to add any new CPUs (new folders and farmers alike) to the CPU countdown thread.
Currently running ... 8 x 9800GX2 (so that's 16 GPU, right?) and 5 x 8800GT 729 {some more going into 'rationalised' machines, so I'll add them later}
Hi Christopher - I think you've misunderstood the point of this thread - it's for adding new/additional GPUs - not for listing the ones that you've already got folding. Therefore, the count is is still: 750
I believe this is for new gpu's only? not existing ones. If im wrong I apologise! (Lizzard you beat me by a min)
Ah, well, OK. It's just that I never put them in the old thread when they were new, so it seemed like a good opportunity to catch up.
Woooooop wicked didnt realise we'd hit the 360 GPU thread, well done all I've 'acquired' another GTX260 to add to my existing 9 lmao so 749 Not being funny in any way mate but if you have so many GPU's running that added together are good for 90-100,000 PPD, how come you are only putting out 9000 ppd average? Do you only run them part time or something?
Yes, part time at the moment. My father's Alzheimer's has got worse recently, so I'm having to spend a lot of time at my parents' house, and I still get random power cuts here at my own, so I usually power everything down before going away. If you look at my production in detail, you will see it swings between 0 and 120,000PPD every few days. On the bright side, at least my electricity bill will be smaller this quarter.
In terms of additional GPUs over this time last week I now have 4 additional GPUs online which I couldn't get working before. 3 on my 2 x 295 GTX rig and 1 on my 2 x 280 GTX rig. So: 745 Mad Dog
After reading this I grabbed a copy for my 4890 to munch through during the day. Just finished my first work unit! 744
Been reading Custom PC magazine and Bit-tech for ages now. Added an i7 920 @ 3.2 and a GTX 275. I presume I was mean to DL the GPU client listed in the 'high performance clients' section of the Stanford website? Not done this before so need to learn, but being a med student i'm more than glad to help! I take it GPU folding is faster than CPU folding? 743
A big welcome to all the new members of the team, but some of you haven't been updating the countdown. By my reckoning it should now stand at: 740 That's pretty awesome upgrading, in just under a week
I've joined the team this week! I'm afraid I've only got a 8800GTX and my 2x dual-core 2.6GHz Opterons. Heh heh a bit old skool. I'm running 5x F@H clients: 1x GPU client and 4xCPU clients - each assigned to an individual CPU core. The system is WC and is on a UPS so is very stable 24/7. Not sure how many that counts as?? 2xCPUs at least!! "Bob_Wya" F@H
Welcome aboard. Take 1 of the GPU count & run the SMP client instead of 4 standard clients for lots more points (& science)
Welcome on board bobwya. I'm newish myself but this forum is very welcoming and there is a massive amount of knowledge available from the regulat contributors, it certainley helped me to get the most out of my rigs.
Lost track where the count is supposed to be up to, so going on the last published red number plus one, I've added an nVidia QuadroFX 1700 .... 738
