    i have a 2500k
    2 x hd6870

just starting to fold on the gpu's is it correct that you have to disable a core on ya cpu for each gpu you fold on, if so how do i do this on fah7 , is it in the expert settings under "extra core options" if so is the following the correct code

    smp4-1 (for 1 gpu) smp4-2 (for 2 gpu)

    Not entirely.

I normally run on all cores but cap it to 80% to give it some head room.

One core disabled will be plenty if you had to.

ATI GPUs use a full CPU core when folding, NVidia GPUs barely touch the CPU. So to use 2 x 6870 you will probably only be able to efficiently use 2 CPU cores for folding. Votick's reply would be right if you were talking about NVidia GPUs.

You want 'smp 3' for 1 GPU and 'smp 2' for 2 GPU's for the correct syntax.
