    Hi all,

I'm looking for motherboards with 3x PCIe (16) slots, I would prefer 1155 boards but will take AMD suggestions. The only proviso is that all the slots must be dual slot capable in a seven slot case. (so no boards with the third PCIe (16) slot as slot seven). Cheaper is better :)

Anyone come across any? The only ones I've found are the high end boards costing >£275

EVGA Z75 SLI? It has 3x x16 slots but they'll become x8/x8/x4 electrically with 3 cards installed.

Edit: Also the Asus P8C WS and Asus P8B WS but again, the slots will become x8/x8/x4 I think with three cards.

AMD wise, there's the Gigabyte 990FXA-UD5 which I think will give x16/x16/x8 with three cards.

This is more like it, thanks, I'd never seen this before. I'd seen the WS boards but they are still too expensive. I don't care about the lanes as it is for Gfx Folding.

    Hi All,

This is my new folder; MSI Z77A-G45/G2020/2x660Ti. If it works out fine I'll make three more over the coming year. The other two will be EVGA Z75 SLi/G2020/3x650Ti (tho' I may do three of each instead). This is because of the 400 series taking a dive, PPD wise, and the EVGA 680 SLi mobos that I currently use becoming increasingly unreliable and very rare.

Here is a thought for you, you don't need physical x16 slots at all. All you need is x1 slots.

As long as there is room to actually fit the cards in without hitting heatsinks etc all you do is use a craft knife and VERY carefully cut away the end of the slot that prevents the card going in.

I have done this before for folding and never had a single issue, as you say the bandwidth does not matter.

The ASRock Z77 WS is a board I have been looking at for running more gpus. Looks like a pretty good value too.
