Hey guys, my name is Claudio, I'm 15 years old and I'm from Germany. I am currently doing a casemod of an "Antec Three Hundred" (as i hope you can see from the pic above ) The project will go over a longer time because I am still a pupil and therefore it's not always easy to get the money for some things in the mod. By the way: The modding theme will be black and red. Until now you can only see black in the mod, the red will come in the future To Do-List: dismount the hardware - Done remove the HDD-tray - Done making holes for cable-managment - Done spraying the inner side of the case black - Done adding a window - Done assembling fans and cold cathode lights - Done cable-managment - Done assembling the Corsair H50 - Done adding the insulation matting - Done mounting the HDD-cooler - Done making a PSU-cover out of acryl glass - X adding flexlights - X using SATA-drives + spray them black - X stealthmod for drives - X sleeving of remaining cables - X making a PSU-cover out of acryl glass - X illuminate the motherboard - X removing the fan grills - X making a motive on the window - X adding red-LED fans - X better water cooling system - X Hardware: CPU: Intel Core2Quad Q6600 Motherboard: MSI P43 Neo-F RAM: 4GiB DDR2-800 CL5 GeIL Value Video card:Club3D Radeon HD4830 HDD: Seagate Barracuda 250GB PSU: Antec EarthWatts 500W Planned water cooling system: Phobya G-Changer 240 Phobya G-Changer 120 13/10er PVC tube + fittings Phobya Waterblock 775 + Backplate alphacool HF 38 Missouri alphacool Eheim-Station 600 II aquacomputer Double Protect Ultra Red At this point I want to thank C. Yay ! Welcome to the '3,5" bay is useless' club , good luck mate, looking forward to see the acrylic psu shroud, and if you are interested you can check out my panda worklog (link in sig) its an 300 too.
Thank you guys! @k0rben: Yeah that's true, my HDD is, as you can see on the pics, in a Scythe Himuro The PSU cover is the thing I am mostly looking forward, too. I first thought about spraying my PSU but then the guarantee would be void an this is a thing I am not willing to risk. I already read your worklog, it's awesome Modding the 300 is fun, isn't it?
Yeah, I'll do that. The reason I didn't already do that, is that I didn't know whether there is any limit in pictures per post in this board. Is there a spoiler tag?
Just this textspoiler i think Spoiler spoilerspoiler doesnt work with pics. The images are autoresized (you can view original by clicking the yellow bar above picture), try 800x600 or 1280x1024
zeldafan could you do me a favor? i've already snipped off the LED cables and now i dont remember which one is HDD and which is PWR.. that LED on the top is power? also, mine leds are blue..and i have newer version of 300 (with backplate hole and ssd support) yours are blue too? //edit : ah, nvm, dumb question, 5 secs after posting i realised - lol they are both same color so it doesnt matter
@k0rben: Yeah, I did the same for spraying the case The top one is power, the lower one HDD. @bobisgod: I'm going to sleeve the cables which aren't sleeved 'till now, like for example the HDD and power LEDs and so on. I didn't know that. @Remmes: Thanks!
Today I got a delivery: Guess what I found in there... Yeah, thats right: Spoiler Some single pics of every thing:
The water-cooling system is now installed! The idle temperatures: CoreTemp and HWMonitor say this: Core0: 36-38°c Core1: 37-38°c Core2: 31-33°c Core3: 31-33°c RealTemp, SpeedFan and Everest say this: Core0: 28-32°c Core1: 28-32°c Core2: 22-26°c Core3: 22-26°c GPU looks like this, identical in every program: GPU: 26-35°c Pics: Spoiler
That is a great watercooling setup, the only issue with removing the 3.5inch bays is you now have nowhere to hide all the cables behind Perhaps while you are doing the acrylic cover for the power supply you could just create a stealth plate to hide stuff behind?
Thank you guys! @Matticus: I made some holes into the mainboard tray to hide the cables behind it. but when i installed the watercooling, i forgot to hide the cables again. this will be done soon
I did the same thing with a rear radiator in my first WC setup. I think it might look better (and less ghetto) if you flip the radiator around and drill two holes for the tubing. That way all the tubing is inside. Just a thought. You did a spectacular job. Welcome to the forum.
