Not sure where to post this one as it is both hardware & game related so picked here for Mass effect Andromeda on PC I see from here https://www.masseffect.com/buy/system-requirements it only lists GTX 1060 for the recomended requirements on some random website https://www.pcgamesn.com/mass-effect...m-requirements it does list GTX 970 but it is not mentioned on the official site so I would like to know how will 2x GTX 970's in SLI run it & how well would a single one run it
GTX 1060 would run better then the others. Since its range is pretty much higher. It will be beneficial. GTX 970 is also good. And actually, there isn't any big difference between GTX 970 and GTX 1060. If you want to keep it simple tjen GTX 970 is also fine. But GTX 1060's performance is better then it.
A single 970 'should' play the game on high settings @1080. Perhaps a mixture of high and ultra. SLi is currently broken, but Nvidia are working on a fix for the release of the game. Battlefield 1 is a good measuring stick, though from what I have heard this game is not as well optimized. Edit: Apparently the Nvidia 1080/1080ti? (I forget which) should play the game at 4K @60 FPS. I add this just for...reasons. And I would take that with a pinch (truckload) of salt until real reviews start coming in. And I really would be cautious about this last titbit. It sounds like developer fever to me, but I thought I would add it in anyway.
Bioware say a GTX 970 will give you high settings on 1080p @ 30fps The GTX 970 was there before bioware changed it to a GTX 1060 because what i guess was a request from nvidia to use there new card in the system requirements rather than last gen. As said above 1060 and 970 are very closely matched. 2 GTX 970's IF scaled very well you should expect something along the lines of a GTX 1080 performance but with a lower 4GB (3.5GB) VRAM that could really hinder it with the massive textures ME:A has.
