Windows Battlefield 3 Limited Edition Maps

We've been informed that there will be 4 BF2 maps included with BF3 Limited Edition.....

....so what maps do you want revved up for BF3???

Karkand is a given, but here my list:

1. Karkand
2. Gulf of Oman
3. Kubra Dam
4. Sharqi or Mashtuur (either one and im happy!)

 

haven't the maps have already been confirmed for revamp?... CBA to look for source

I want to pre-order but through steam. Does anyone know when it's going to out on steam?

 

Really wish they would have done Road to Jalalabad. Great mix of urban plus open terrain combat.

I've never enjoyed Wake Island, it's one of my most hated maps.
I would have much preferred FuShe Pass or Highway Tampa, actually I'd imagine Highway Tampa would be absolutely astounding on the new Frostbite engine.

Pre-ordered anyway though as the other 3 maps in the limited edition are great maps.

 

Time to pre-order now with somewhere that offers price guarantee as I can imagine a stupid price tag on the limited edition nearer to launch

 

anyone know how will this limited edition mappack work?

server rotate and when it comes to those maps, people without LE gets kicked out? or server must choose to play LE or normal? (like all expansion packs on all BF games, where a restart is needed to change between them)


got my preorder on Amazon that is limited edition right? didn't look closely.

 

I haven't seen anyone selling a version of this that ISN'T limited edition! I get the impression that the initial release will contain all of these extra's.

 

I imagine it will probably work similar to BC2's 'VIP' system, where the content is released to all owners of the PC version (since you need to register the game to an EA account), but console players will need a special code which comes with new copies of the game, so if it is sold second hand and the code has already been used then you will need to purchase a new one.

 

Tbh, they should revamp all of the remaining BF2 maps and release them as DLC, I'd pay for that.

 

Isn't the Limited Edition just a version of their Project $10? Everyone who preorders is automatically upgraded to LE and after release you will have to pay extra for that content.

Same thing happening with Crysis 2, preorder and get upgraded to LE

 

Agreed, I would have loved Jalalalalabad too, as well as Mashtuur City as the transport choppers really made a difference there.

i think they had a troop based map in Karkand, a chopper based map in Sharqi, a water based map in Wake island and a transport based map in Oman. Personally I'd rather see Oman out and another map in...alas, this is BF3 not BF2 remade with Frostbite....

I'm sure the new maps will be good though. None of the BFBC2 maps were bad, in fact I play them all happily.

 

the only version you can get before the release is the limited edition....
people after have to pay £10 extra for the pack... they will be pissed off from been dropped from servers that they are more or less forced to buy it.

I did see smc8788's response to wuyanxu's question but I didn't particularly understand!

 

I used to play infantry only because the jets pissed me off so much.

Karkand, Jalalabad and Sharqi are the good ones I remember.

 

Basically if you DONT buy the LE then you will NOT be able to play those maps. Only way you will be able to is buy that map pack at an additional cost, most cost effective way is to just pre-order the LE at amazon as they have a pre-order price guarantee whereas some other companies dont
