After much deliberation, the other half and I decided we wanted a Cheesecake as our wedding cake.

She found the English Cheesecake Company, and requested a sample.

For £50, I thought it was a bit steep for an 8" cake, but a) it comes off the price if we order a full 3-tier cake, and b) OMGWTFBBQ, it's THE best cheesecake I've ever had.

It has a good Base-to-Filling ratio, and looks clean and tidy. No gelatine on the top - just a choice of 4 different toppings:
    : Toblerone
    : Strawberries and Shortcake
: Honeycomb pieces coated in chocolate
    : Profiteroles. Yes, Profiteroles.

We've tasted 2 of the four so far, I'll update this with the others tonight. I could only manage a slice of each before I felt full, so we had to postpone.

The Honeycomb topped slice was good, but a little sweet. There's too much sugar in there with a sweet filling as well as a supersweet topping.

The Profiterole topped slice was Perfection. The neutral cream and dark chocolate sauce perfectly complemented the sweet filling and ever-so-slightly salty base.

The only downside was that the base was just a bit too crunchy. More than once, I almost lost a piece over the side of the plate, after trying to seperate a piece from the slice.

I'll post pics later if I can get them, and will let you know on the Strawberry and Toblerone toppings.

That needs to get sorted out. Soft cheesecake bases are Cheesecake.

What we need to know, is who was for having cheesecake, and who was against?

flipping eck i was hoping the high price was the "wedding" surcharge, but its £32.99 for an 8" Chocolate Chip Irish Cream Cheesecake, it had better be the best cheesecake ever. The scary thing is i'm now starting to think hey i could order one for tommorow, and the next day postage is only £4.99. however i draw the line at them pre-slicing it for another £1.50. might just have to make my own.

Her: Ooh, look what I've found on the Web, wouldn't that be fun?

Me: MUST HAVE IT. DO IT, DO IT NOW.

Poor form. Clearly your cheesecake consumption technique need some work - don't fill up on bread rolls, stoopid :duh:

Anyway, those are some pretty darn pricey cheesecakes, but I guess you could save a bit on the ring to put a bit more towards the cheescake, no?

    lol!! :hehe:

Future MrsD says its over budget, I stopped myself saying she should have got a cheaper dress!

When i proposed i made little Ginger Cheesecake in a heart shaped ramekin and put the ring in the topping like a ring box. Would have been good to finish with cheesecake too, never mind :waah:

Hope its as good as we all know it will be Badders (and Da_Rude_Baboon if future Mrs_Da_Baboon says yes!)

If Cheesecake be the food of love, bake on.
