    What I want

I want a screen 26" or over to use as a secondary monitor for my pc to watch films in bed with and use with my gaming chair for xbox.

    It therefore needs to
    - Be suitable for1920x1200 (to go with my current 24).
    - Have a HDMI port
    - Be mountable on a side arm

Heres' a pic of how I want it look. With the larger screen on the right becoming a 26"-27".

Currently there seems to be two options in this field

    The Iiyama

    The Dell

The price difference is HUGE and would mean waiting a very long time for the dell.

I spoke to lizard about this a few months ago and he pointed out that the montior is what you spend most of your time looking at, but £800 is alot.

Anyone got the dell or the iiyama? Would they have gone the other way?

Oh and would the 27" look rubbish on 1920x1200?

I am willing to look at other monitors as long as they stick to what I need above, however I am not interested in lower res (hence not a TV), cheap tacky looking screens or loosing the HDMI.

    Cheers

1920x1080 TV is hardly losing res much and would be much much cheaper for just watching films and stuff

Plus 1080 is better suited for playing films as its 16:9 ot 16:10.

plus Xbox doesnt support 1920x1200 anyway and you will be forced to a lower res.

just a thought but id take a good 26" TV over a rubbish branded monitor at similar price and £800 for the dell is rediculous

The reason I want the 1200 is because thats the res I use for the pc. And i intend to be cloning it to the other desk. I've tried running at 1080 and its just not the same.

No problem mate. Any trouble with it, PM me on here and I'll be happy to help (that is if you do buy it, which I recommend) :).
