At some point today on Steam (I read around 6pm on a forum, but not sure how accurate this is) it will be available for 24 hours to get for free and keep forever! Imo a great game and deffo worth a punt at that price! Also at some point, Tripwire will follow up with a free release of the Rising Storm expansion! http://store.steampowered.com/app/35450/ - Now live!
It's a slower paced, hardcore shooter. The Rising Storm expansion is also really good, also there's a 3rd party Vietnam mod coming out soon (called InCountry Vietnam) which should be cool. It's not going to be everyone's bag, because people are use to the faster play styles of BF and COD, and it takes a bit of time to get used to this style of play and what the objectives are. Prepare to get killed a lot and not even know where it came from, lying in ditches and trenches whilst bullets whizz over your head and mortar strikes go off beside you Regardless of the haters, you can't complain about a freebie
I have had this a while and completely forgot about it, think I may have bought it in the Christmas sale but never even installed! Downloading the single player on it at the moment and will try out multiplayer once I get through sp stuff. I personally prefer slower paced multiplayer where you have to work as a team instead of just going lone wolf
Absolutely brilliant game, I've spent many an hour on it. Bought it on early access, always loved me some RO.
Very under rated game. Unfortunately it doesn't appeal to the mass market because of its slower paced style, but it doesn't make it a bad game. I'm sure if Tripwire did make a COD/BF style game it would be done better.
You'll get killed a lot so get used it lol. Once you start getting kills and getting the jist of it (like any game) you'll enjoy it a lot.
Gameplay not graphics! It's source based so its not amazing but its good enough. I would say it's probably a bit better looking than PS2 graphics...
It's Unreal Engine 3. Tripwire won Make Something Unreal in 2004 so got rights to use the engine for their games.
